THE VINEYARD

The Larner Vineyard is located on a 150 acre family-owned piece of land in Ballard Canyon in the Santa Ynez Valley (Santa Barbara County, California). Of these, 33 acres are planted to Rhone grape varietals.

This excellent York Mountain winery has turned out a mineral-dominated, tropical fruit-scented and flavored, medium-bodied 2007 Viognier Larner Vineyard with superb purity, length, and texture. It should drink well for 1-2 years.

TWO STARS 2005 Shadow Canyon Cellars Larner Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley Viognier . Larner harvested these Viognier grapes for Shadow Canyon Cellars on Oct. 5; the resulting wine has a creamy mouthfeel with layers of flavor, including toast, candied apple and toasted almond. W.Blake Gray
